“Great Grandfather Hands” Alexander Bradbury’s Congressional Art Competition entry

Local Mount Vernon artist and Mount Vernon Creates participant Alexander Bradbury is in the thick of the 2013 U.S. Congressional Art Competition and he needs our vote! Alexander, a senior at Mount Vernon High School, is one of 88 nominees from the Iowa’s 1st Congressional District, represented by Rep. Bruce Braley.

This year’s LHAF will feature 50 booths, music, food and surprises. In the past, the festival has drawn good crowds and, according to exhibitors, has been a very good event for the artists.

Wed 3^rd, Keegan Moore & Guests. Keegan is a talented young guitarist singer songwriter, and will offer-up some fine sounds with guest artists including bass player Rich Wagor.

Thurs. 4^th, Natalie Brown & Craig Erickson, Natalie, fresh back from Aberdeen Scotland with new stories, new music and probably a need for Good Pizza!

Fri. 5^th, Gayla & DJ, Singer Songwriter Gayla Drake and The phenomenal bass of DJ Johnson. Way talented local artists from CR and Coralville…Good Stuff!

*Sat. 6^th SPECIAL EVENT, 8-10pm, Robert “One Man” Johnson together with Wisconsin singer songwriter Mike Quick. Two talented recording artist, one gig, does it get any better?

Wed. 10^th, Goatsinger, Yes…the return of the new and improved Goatsinger from right here in our own town!

Thurs. 11^th, Esme. One of quad cities most talented female singer songwriters, raised in a musical setting and most talented. Please welcome Esme back.

Fri. 12^th, Slewgrass, Iowa City, 4-piece string band plays an eclectic mix of traditional, and non-traditional “bluegrassy” music.  Wonderfully talented group.

Wed 17^th, Paper Arrows, Literate Love Songs From Chicago. Passing through, we’re pleased to have accomplished frontman Chicago Musician Joe Goodkin join us at the Winebar

Thur. 18^th, Ben Schmidt, Quick to become a favorite at the Winebar, We are lucky to have such a talented blues, folk, singer/songwriter artist in our area!

Fri. 19^th, Anji Kat Trio, Our own pro-vocal Anji Kat joined by Bass player extraordinaire Rich Wagor, and multi instrumentalist Dale Beeks

Sat. 20^th, Special Event, Double Billing, 8-10:00, Our own CR Singer SongwriterJordan Sellergren & Thomas Hentges or, Burlap Wolf King, is the vessel of song for South Dakota singer/songwriter…. Once again, two talented recording artists in one show!

Wed. 24^th, Brook Hoover, a one man show playing Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins…cool. First time at the Winebar. Welcome Brook.

Thurs. 25^th, Bryce Janey, born with a blues guitar in his hands, Bryce Janey is one of the best blues guitarists in the area…always happy to have him back.

Fri. 26^th, Waubeek Trackers. Yes! They’re back. Patty Ankrum, Steve Maurice and Richard Baillargeon…from yonder-years to here-and-now. We are so very pleased to welcome them to the winebar!
